Waste Gobbles Up 25% of US Healthcare Spending, JAMA Study Finds

The estimated cost of waste in the U.S. healthcare system ranges from $760 billion to $935 billion, or about 25% of the total healthcare spending, according to a report in JAMA issued Monday. 

CVS, UPS Join Forces on Drone Delivery

CVS Health is joining forces with UPS to test several different applications for drone delivery, including sending certain products directly to patients. UPS' Flight Forward program earned the first certification by the U.S. government to operate a drone airline earlier this month, and since then it's built out its infrastructure and capabilities.

Partnership Aims to Bring Digital Health Access to Rural Communities

The collaboration is funded through a three-year, $1.1 million grant and will support scientific research examining how to make digital health technology more accessible and useful for residents of urban and rural underserved communities across Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
