The insurance giant announced the deal's closure on Monday morning. In the release, UnitedHealth touts the companies' shared vision for making the healthcare system simpler and more adaptive to the needs of payers, providers and patients.

By itself, standard self-measured blood pressure (SMBP) monitoring has minimal effect on blood pressure control. But when SMBP is accompanied by co-interventions, particularly clinical support, it has several significant benefits, including more accurate diagnosis, lower blood pressure and better control of hypertension.

Carlos Cubia has been charged with tackling inequity both within Beaumont-Spectrum Health and the community. Healthcare Dive sat down with Cubia to discuss how he plans to tackle his role as chief diversity officer, a position he says has evolved dramatically in recent decades.    

Electronic health records (EHRs) require clinical users to spend far too much time searching for clinically relevant information for a given patient and, once that information is located, to go through too many disconnected processes to complete their work. EHRs need to be more of a tool for patient care, and less of a burden.

HHS Invests Nearly $27 Million to Expand Support for Pediatric Mental Health Care

Funding will offer timely mental health support to children and adolescents by training pediatricians and other children’s health care providers in treating mental health conditions and by providing tele-consultation to bring mental health expert support directly to pediatric primary care providers.
