Task Force Makes Recommendations on SUD, Pain, Mental Health

A new Substance Use and Pain Care Task Force formed by the AMA with the AAFP and other partners has released five recommendations aimed at removing barriers, improving access to care and increasing access to harm-reduction strategies for patients with pain, substance use disorders or mental illness.  

The Need for Ethical Data Models for Comprehensive Data Sharing

It is imperative for health systems to form data sharing partnerships that allow for the analysis of de-identified clinical data, while effectively and comprehensively protecting patient information.

Many experts believe that AI will deliver on the long-promised transformation of healthcare by providing the connective tissue that ties our other technology advancements together. The industry will finally be able to merge data from multiple sources to provide valuable insights at the point of care. 

VA Adopts New Artificial Intelligence Strategy to Ensure Trustworthy Use of Technology for Veteran Care

As part of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ efforts to explore the use of artificial intelligence in the delivery of health care and benefits, VA implemented a new AI strategy late September, to serve as a guideline for ethical use of the technology throughout its enterprise.
