Patient motivation techniques are critical for providers trying to activate patients in chronic care management programs. In all of healthcare, but especially in chronic disease management, it is important for patients to be active participants in their own wellness journey
Research conducted by Park Associates found that about 50 percent of consumers are interested in remote care for follow-up care following an illness or hospitalization, and about the same amount are interested in virtual care for ongoing treatment of a chronic health condition.
President Donald Trump signed a bill reauthorizing the Food and Drug Administration’s user fee agreements for drugs and devices that will fund a new digital health unit and allow the agency to tap into new data sources.
The latest MACRA proposals exempts more small providers from the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), allows hospital-based physicians to report at a facility level, introduces virtual reporting groups and eases EHR requirements. Provider groups mostly praised the changes, but offered some tweaks and requests.
