A new study by the American Medical Association and published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings found that $979 million in excess health spending annually comes from primary care physician turnover, with $260 million, attributable to burnout. 

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a redesigned Accountable Care Organization (ACO) model that better reflects the agency’s vision of creating a health system that achieves equitable outcomes through high quality, affordable, person-centered care.

For patients with functional limitations that make it difficult to get to in-person appointments, changes in telehealth rules during the public health emergency have made it easier to manage their medical conditions.

HHS plans to invest in fields including artificial intelligence, robotics and test kit research in a push to make the public health supply chain more resilient.
